about

A soulful cover of Dragon's 1977 hit 'Get That Jive' originally recorded for Groovescooter's critically acclaimed 'Re-fashioned' series, for Vol 1 which was subtitled: 'Electronically Restitched Antipodean Classics'.

Version produced by Sydney's Ju Ju Space Jazz / Dan Conway. Lead vocals by Pat Powell. Also features Lee McIver on trumpet and Lara Goodridge (FourPlay) on backing vocals.

Artwork taken from the Jeremy designed 'Re-fashioned Vol 1' booklet to coincide with 2001 Australian Fashion Week and included with the CD version of the album released on Groovescooter Records (Cat: GS004). The booklet was also used to promote/launch Jeremy's new range at fashion week.

Re-fashioned Vol 1 is no longer available on CD. The full album can be purchased in high-quality download version from Junodownload. It contains covers of The Reels, Models, Vita Beats, Sherbet, Mi-Sex, Hunters & Collectors, Jenny Morris + many other Australian classics.

Nominated for the 2001 Australian Dance Music Awards (Best Compilation), it received some great press including 5 stars and the 'Album Of The Month' trophy in Ministry Magazine, plus a swag of great reviews and Feature Album spots on radio/in print. MTV also featured the album with some live performances at Fox Studios back in the day. Coming before Like A Version, Vol 2 was also JJJ's Album Of The Week.

Re-fashioned was conceived, produced and compiled by Georgie Zuzak & Paris Pompor at Groovescooter Records. The majority of the 40+ cover versions were commissioned by Groovescooter, the unsuspecting (and often perplexed) producers who remade the tracks at times had no knowledge of the originals and therefore very generously and skilfully turned in amazing versions.
