A startling cover of the Depeche Mode classic for Valentine's Day 2019.

One of a number of Gotye recordings from the Groovescooter backcatalogue before his meteoric rise to worldwide fame, is now available digitally. Recorded in Gotye's home with a stripped-bare piano backing and flipped into a minor key, the results are a million miles from the song's synth-pop origins. With additional fx and a final mix by Groovescooter, the tune had some love early on the Triple J Feature Album it hails from - Groovescooter's Re-fashioned Vol 2 British Airwaves - and later on YouTube where it clocked up tens of thousands of plays.
